Taking Flight

Three-month period of fellowship has ended. In the last session, everyone was trying to talk with each other, sharing his/her experience, showing gratitude and getting emotional. Fellowship time has passed just within no time and we are missing the days when we made a number of memories, learned from each other, choty choty fun. We had decided to make a gratitude card for our facilitators and we all appeared with those cards on the screen all at once. Our mentors were very happy and excited by our appreciation notes.

All the time we made things productive for each other in every session, but on that day we were just making plans of how we will keep this process going on. Emotional attachments like a family were being shared with each other and every eye was full of tears but was in control. No one was focused on work that day, no timing issue bas dil karta tha sb bolty jayen our hm sunty jayen. We had a Scavenger Hunt activity in the session. It was an amazing and full of fun activity where we had to guess items and upload our selfies on the photo album.

We had planned to remain in touch in future through random meetings to gather plans and one most important thing to remain connected is a movie session with our program manager Noor Alam. We decided to have a movie club discussion twice in a month so that we can explore new things and remain in touch as well.

One of the best things which Amal taught us is the “Continuous Learning”. Amal taught never stop learning, you may fail but your learning will save you and bring you success. And with this continuous learning, we always think positively in all situations and see challenges as an opportunity. Whenever you face challenges, look at it from the positive side rather than feeling sad. One can never find a happy life, one can make it happy through his positive mindset.

Balance in passion and profession, being grateful for the things that we have and small acts of kindness for all are the learnings to implement in our daily life.

Gratitude is the first factor that influences my attitudes and beliefs regarding others. During the last session, I discovered that each colleague expressed gratitude to our Program Manager and Program Associate. Many of them had no words to express their thanks. When fellows thanked each other in such a humble manner, the world came to a halt. They were thanking their colleagues, circle members, Program Manager and Program Associate for their accomplishments. Smiles, emotions, and gratitude all play a role in your happiness. “Train your mind to perceive the good in everything and in every moment.” All it takes is a growth mindset.

We had a great get together on the last day after the session.

Thank you so much Sir Noor Alam and Ma’am Ayesha for their time and patience in the sessions. We got all the time whether it is regarding constructive feedback or any query regarding fellowship. Such a great helping program manager and mentor I got in one-on-one sessions. He really understood my situation and provided such valuable advice for my future. Going the extra mile, he personally reviewed my university proposal on my request and gave me a direction to complete it. Really no words to express my feelings for you.
